Hello everyone! I always feel strange reading third person bios, so I’d like to introduce myself! My name is Sasha and I am a single mom to an 11 year old boy named Gavin. I was born and raised in Manhattan, from a Croatian mother and English dad so I am first generation American!

When I moved to LA in 2002 it was with visions of Hollywood dancing in my head. However I quickly realized that 'showbiz’ was not for me….As luck would have it, my friend from college, also living in LA, had a roommate who worked in PR and her company needed help… And so, as with many things in life, I, quite by accident, began my career in fashion. From PR, I made a leap to sales and worked my way up to Head of Sales for an accessories showroom downtown LA.

My own passion for design and creation coupled with years of experience watching other designers and working ‘behind the scenes’ gave me the itch to ultimately start my own brand. 2014 was the year that I left my marriage and my mom was diagnosed with lung cancer. It was an extremely tumultuous moment for me. I was scared for my mothers life, and I really didn’t know what my future looked like…but leaving an unhealthy marriage was a leap of faith that I knew I needed to take. I believe that if you jump into the unknown once, it’s easier to do it again and so, in the midst of personal chaos, I decided it was time to jump again and start my very first product business.

The name Willows came to me in a dream and I knew right away it was perfect for the brand. Not only did our glasses drop down like the branches of the tree but Willow roots never break….even in the midst of the strongest storms, they bend with the wind. Willows are also said to bring about emotional release and cathartic healing and of course I knew I had to work with crystals beautiful stones coming from earth energy.

My brand was born from struggle. For me, it symbolized renewal, grounding, building roots and a foundation for my son and practicing patience and flexibility.

Through sharing MyWillows with the world, I have found new communities and friends in Los Angeles and made more connection with others than I could have ever imagined. I have witnessed how our products bring people together and create so much joy. We put a lot of LOVE into each piece and and hope you can feel that!

Thank you so much for joining in on this journey with us!
